2nd Amendment needs a “Fix”?

The Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America can, and should, be better clarified with the understanding that the the right to bear arms is very directly connected to being part of
a well regulated militia.

• A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
  the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The above is all one sentence; yet most interpretations of the Second Amendment have failed to keep the thought connected.
